Spend a day at school with a classroom of boys and girls, two African spur tortoises, and a guinea pig named Mocha. Intimate photographs along with simple, explanatory text invite readers to join Annie, Ryan, and all of their classmates as they learn and have fun while engaged in an assortment of school activities. Sara and Luka feed a carrot to Mocha, while Ellie and Molly put on a puppet show. Zane mixes up a "moo-shake" with bananas and strawberries at snack time, and Dash wears a fireman's coat during a field trip to a fire station. The children that appear in Rochelle Bunnett's book reflect her over 20 years of experience as a teacher and advocate for young children with different abilities. The children featured come from various cultural backgrounds, and some of them have physical disabilities. All of them are represented in brief bios, in which each child discusses what they like to do when they're not at school. Between quiet time, snack time, recess and clean-up, Bunnett leaves out little from a classroom experience, while Matt Brown's photographs show school for the welcoming — and fun — place it can be.
